HML is excited to announce the upcoming Kitchen Table Conversations with Gary Wickham and Alan Donovan. Please join us at the library on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:00pm. As you know, 100 years ago, Henry Huntington donated the house and surrounding grounds to the City of Oneonta to use as a library and park. Many changes have taken place since that time and we’ll kick off the program with some interesting facts about the library from the early 20th Century. But more importantly, I want to record and archive memories that have taken place in our lifetime. If you recall sledding down the hill or have a story about a memorable librarian, we would love to save your stories for future generations. Kitchen Table Conversations are a rich resource for the Oneonta community. It was initially a program on the SUNY Oneonta NPR affiliated radio station WUOW hosted by Alan Donovan, former college president and produced by Mark Simonson. Along with a live broadcast, the purpose of the program was to create an oral archive of the interviews. You’ll hear conversations from business and political leaders, medical professionals, artists, educators and others from Otsego and Delaware Counties. To find the extensive list of over 100 recorded conversations, go to libguides.oneonta.edu/conversations.
