This month may be the last of the good weather this year so get outside and get fit by participating in our Story Walk. The walking story will be posted in the Huntington Park between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. In addition to enhancing literacy and fitness, the Story Walk is simply a fun activity that’s perfect for 3-to-7-year-olds and their parents. After the story is read, there’s an additional opportunity to practice your numbers with a scavenger hunt through the pages of the book. If you can find the exercises in the correct order, you’ll be rewarded with a miniature Frisbee compliments of Get Fit Otsego.
A Family GPM Rain EnGAUGE Event will take place 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10. It will celebrate the launch of NASA’s Global Precipitation Measurement mission and learn about the science behind measuring precipitation from space, as well as what it means for us on the ground. There will be hands-on activities, door prizes and even the chance to make an edible satellite or rain gauge. There will be GPM Ambassador decals, so attendees may bring a T-shirt. There will also be a visit from Miss Raindrop. The event is free but registration is required. Call the library at 432-1980 or stop by.
